11/22/2013 - The PRE-holiday and short week order! Nope, it's not another reminder about some sort of "scripping" holiday. Though I must say I laugh when the competition misnames a holiday and then tells you to wait an extra day for your "Thanksscrip" to arrive. However, I digress.
We here at NOSA are less concerned about the "who you order from" as we are about the "that you order!" We hope it will be NOSA but, all due respect to our founding fathers, we are an organization of parents, by parents and for parents! Hence this is the reason for this e-mail.
NOSA has spent a generation sending the message that "there is money in them there scrip hills." You really need to just use a little "elbow grease" to dig it out.
Take next week and today for instance.
Next week is not a week to take off. Your parents want to buy, and for sure will buy, for the "promotion weekend" of the year. We just received, today, an order from a client who's program does a little less than $200K a year. They ordered Monday the 18th at about their average order of $4,000. Then getting prepared for the short holiday week they ordered today. This order will be in their box this afternoon. They can pick it up, sort it over the weekend and get it to their parents on Monday.
Today's $8,000 order for that client generated nearly $500 in tuition assistance that their parents wouldn't have made had they not decided to do scrip for the short week. This is what scrip is all about. Creating earnings from whole cloth! In this unsure, unstable and unpredictable economy where everyone is looking for more places from which to "mine" for financial resources these "off weeks" are a virtual (and real) goldmine!
The holiday weeks are very busy. However, everyone has time to make money. If the holiday is on a Wednesday or later in the week you can use it. Make a second weekly order on Friday (or if you get it shipped-Thursday), sort the next day and distribute. This free money will be appreciated by your parents and make the financial burden of costs and tuition that much lighter.
The WTPSPA (the family organization run by Diane and I) takes family orders on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year. Last year it did nearly $60,000 that day. That $3,000 those parents earned that day paid a lot of tuition for a lot parents!
So, regardless of WHO you order from, take advantage of these short holiday weeks (as well as summer vacations) and just ORDER!

10/31/2013 - Taco Bell @ 4%! For years NOSA has struggled trying to get some vendors to sell to NOSA under the same terms it gives other suppliers. NOSA, like the US Antitrust laws, believe in the free market and level playing field for all those in it. For some vendors these efforts have been historically unsuccessful. So NOSA on its own accord and expending its own resources has successfully changed one vendor from a vendor who gave a preferred discount to another supplier to a vendor who treats all scrip suppliers. Taco Bell has now agreed to a higher more fairly distributed discount allowing NOSA to sell them at 4@!.
This concession was offered to ALL scrip suppliers (NOSA DOES NOT SEEK PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT RATHER A FAIR ACROSS THE BOARD DEAL...this is unheard of in the Scrip supply business) considerable discourse on the anti-trust propriety of a preferred discount being offered to one member of our industry and not to all of us. Our lawyer, Toledo's own Joseph S. Simpson of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick persuaded the decision makers at Taco Bell to create the level playing field that all of us scrip suppliers desire.
Diane and I again renew our pledge to the entire scrip buying and selling community that NOSA will seek and promote the free exchange of scrip, scrip vendors and other resources allowing the best possible environment for ALL SCRIP SUPPLIERS to better serve our clients

01/23/2009 - Mancino's Pizza and Grinders Great news! We now have Mancino's Pizza and Grinders at Spring Meadows $10 at 8%. Mancino's has salads, great pizzas, pasta and is Home of the Grinder. A Grinder is a fresh baked Italian Roll filled with generous amounts of meats and cheese and baked and garnished with lettuce and tomato. Also, Do-It-Best Hardware, Circuit City and Fazoli's are no longer available. Famous Dave's is now at 6%.
01/09/2009 - Salsarit's Fresh Cantina Great news! We now have Salsarita's Fresh Cantina restaurant located on Ford Street off Dussel Road. Salsarita's guests can create a made to order meal from a Mexican menu that features burritos, enchiladas, tacos, quesadilla, nachos, tortilla-crust pizza, soups and salads. You choose from beef, chicken. grilled steak, shrimp, shredded beef or pork and 13 other fresh fillings. Lunch meals are priced from $5-$9 which includes homemade nacho chips and a beverage.
